OUR STORY

Born out of wanting to reduce waste, and use less. not just as an individual, but as a community.

Love Haslemere Hate Waste hopes to INSPIRE and empower this change.

Started in 2019 by Victoria Page, Love Haslemere Hate Waste has become a movement for change in and around Haslemere.

If a town like Haslemere can reduce its waste, educate its community, and do it’s bit for the world as a whole, what’s stopping other towns, and even cities, following our lead?

MEET THE TEAM

Victoria (Tause)

Creator of Love Haslemere Hate Waste, Victoria is passionate about living sustainably and leaving the world in a better place. She’s a sustainability consultant by trade, and is often seen scouring the charity shops of Haslemere or running up to Blackdown.

Chris

One of our talented repairers, and helped Tause to kick start the Virtual Repair Café which launched in March 2020. He has a particular talent for restoring cherished items and family heirlooms — this red tractor pictured here — as well as old garden tools.

Lizzie

If you come to Repair Café on the first Saturday of the month, chances are you’ll be warmly greeted by Lizzie! She is a wiz at matching up a repair with the right repairer and if there’s a poster that needs putting up or a flyer that needs handing out, she’s always willing to do what’s needed!

Michelle

It’s safe to say that we wouldn’t get very much done without Michelle! She started volunteering with Repair Café in 2023 and helps out with our events and market stalls. She now oversees our general operations.

Jen

Jen started as one of our repairers back in 2020, having taught herself to sew by watching YouTube videos during lockdown. She now helps to organise events and runs our social media channels.
